We started to fit swimming pool fencing in France in 2003 when the new AFNOR standard was being introduced. We started by installing Protect-A-Child, a mesh fence with fibreglass or aluminium poles which comes in 4 mtr sections.
Following much controversy surrounding swimming pool security in France and certain "grey" areas which exist we only install metal fencing approved to the highest standards. Equapool manufacture a superb galvanised metal fencing available in green or white polyester paint.
The beauty of a fence system is that once it is installed there is no
maintenance, no possibility of anyone forgetting to make sure the pools
security system is in place once it is left unattended. We
realise a fence may not be everyone's first choice but it is the
most practical. We have had many customers who hated the idea but once installed
were delighted with the results, from the point of safety and because the
fence makes a defined area for the pool making it even more of a focal
point. If you have a rental property you must have a system you can rely on if you are here or not. It is not sufficient to assume your lets will follow instructions if they have to make sure the pool is secure. If it is not, the owner may still be liable. It is now obligatory for all new pools to be installed with a suitable security system.
All our metal fencing is priced at €105.00 per metre installed, the self closing three point security gates are €480.00 and delivery is €350.00 all including T.V.A. Typically a 44 meter installation will cost €5450.00 complete with delivery. Existing terraces must have a suitable flat surface all around the pool with a sufficiently hard concrete base to fix the fencing too, minimum of 1 mtr from the waters edge in accordance with AFNOR. A level trench filled with concrete can be provided 400mm x 400mm in size around an existing terrace if it is not suitable. Prices work out at around €35 euro's a metre.
We also supply for DIY pool fencing Encloture. A flexible mesh type fence which comes in 3.66mtr sections. The terrace or cement base is drilled with a 19mm drill bit and a plastic sleeve is inserted to take the fixing spike on the base of each pole.
The Encloture system has a self closing and self latching gate for collective use pools.
